This name was later added with the letter “r” to confuse players who knew the slang. Today, poker is played worldwide and is a popular form of gambling. In poker, each player’s chips and money go into a “pot” or pool. In some games, players make blind bets, which are either placed into the pot before the first round or are added to the ante before each new player is dealt.
